In Jeremiah 29:11 we have a great promise in a not-so-great chapter. So if things aren’t going too well in your life at the moment, this verse is for you!

Thousands and thousands of God’s people had been dragged off to live as slaves in Babylon. Why?

Because they majorly disrespected God, He removed his protection from them. What a place to end up in. Babylon was about as pagan as you could get. It wasn’t the kind of place holy people hung out; it was a moral and spiritual trash pit. And on top of that, back home the local preachers were making it up as they went along.

Only Jeremiah was tuned in to God’s true voice: ‘Don’t let all those so-called preachers and know-it-alls…take you in with their lies’ (Jeremiah 29:8-9 TM). Deep in his soul he heard the voice of God saying, ‘I still have a plan for you. It’s not over till I say so. I’m going to turn things around for you. Your best days are ahead.’

You say ‘How do you know that God still has a plan for me?’

Because you’re still breathing! He has a plan for every single person He ever created, and it never goes out of date. Even if you’ve lost the plot for years, the plan can still swing into operation the moment you turn your life over to Him.

The plan might be a bit modified from what it would’ve been if you’d paid attention earlier, but that doesn’t stop God. He can adapt to fit anything that comes up, in any life that’s ever lived; including yours. So, there’s hope for you today!

‘I have…plans to give you the future you hope for.’ Jeremiah 29:11 TM

Psalm 56:8-9; 121:1-3, 7-8; 62:8, 12

You have kept count of my wanderings; you put my tears in your bottle.

Each one is recorded in your book! My enemies will turn back in the day when I call upon you.

This I know, that God is for me!  I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?

My help comes from the Lord. He will not let your foot be moved; the Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.

The Lord will keep your going out & you’re coming in from this time forth & forevermore!

Trust in him at all times, pour out your heart before him! For you will render to a man according to his work!

(Your help only comes from God! look to Him today!)
