I’ve got soul but I’m not a soldier
One of the biggest problems young people seem to have is apathy – not being bothered to get out of bed and actually do anything! It’s one of Satan’s favorite secret weapons and half the time we don’t even realize. Adults joke about teenagers always sleeping, watching TV, moping around and never doing anything and often there’s no evidence to prove them wrong!
But check this out: did you know that pretty much all the great revivals in history have started with teenagers?
God absolutely loves teenagers! They have a vision, a passion and an energy that old people just don’t seem to have! They’ve not had their thinking clouded or had years of hard work to make them fed-up. Young people have an innocent faith that God absolutely loves, and rewards! If God says he can heal, he can heal, and he does! God frequently answers the innocent prayers of small children because it doesn’t even occur to them that maybe he won’t!
So what does Satan do when this vast army of energy, faith and passion is pumped and ready to slaughter him in the battle?
He makes them fall in love with their bed, or their PSP, or their TV, or their Viber or Facebook accounts – anything to keep them in their pajamas! In a recent song by the Killers the line is repeated – ‘I’ve got soul but I’m not a soldier’.
How many of you feel that way?
Like there’s a passion and warrior deep down inside, but you just can’t get up off your backside. Read Ezekiel 37 today. God wants to raise up an army in this generation, and he’s waiting for you to join in.
‘…THEY ALL CAME TO LIFE AND STOOD UP ON THEIR FEET – A GREAT ARMY.’ EZEKIEL 37:10 NLT
